1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to MeritRanker, an AI-powered education technology platform operated by Bytech Minds PVT LTD ("Company", "Platform", "we", "us", "our"). These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Bytech Minds PVT LTD governing your access to and use of the MeritRanker platform, website (meritranker.com), mobile applications, and all related services.
By accessing, registering, or using MeritRanker in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue your use of the platform.
These Terms are effective as of January 1, 2026, and will remain in effect for as long as you use MeritRanker or maintain an account.
2. Eligibility of Users
To use MeritRanker, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
A. Age Requirements
- Primary Users: You must be at least 13 years old to create and use an independent account.
- Minors Under 13: Users under 13 years of age must have valid parental or legal guardian consent and supervision. Parents/guardians are responsible for their child's use of the platform.
- Adults: Users aged 18 and above can independently create accounts and enter into payment agreements.
B. Legal Capacity
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the laws of India.
- You may not use MeritRanker if you are a person prohibited under Indian law.
C. Jurisdiction
- While MeritRanker is primarily designed for users in India, we serve users globally. By using the platform, you agree to these Terms and applicable Indian law.
- Users from outside India acknowledge that they are subject to Indian jurisdiction for disputes arising from these Terms.
3. Account Registration and Responsibilities
A. Account Creation
- To access premium features, you must register for an account by providing:

- Email address
- Phone number
- Password (should be strong and unique)
- Educational role (educator/student)
- Other optional profile information
- You may also register using Google OAuth, email authentication, or other third-party authentication methods.
- All information provided must be accurate, truthful, and current.
B. Account Responsibility
- You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must maintain the confidentiality of your password and not share it.
- You must notify us immediately if you become aware of unauthorized access by emailing support@meritranker.com.
- You are responsible for all charges incurred under your account.
- We are not responsible for any loss or damages resulting from unauthorized account access.
C. Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time through account settings or by contacting support.
- Certain transaction records may be retained for legal and tax compliance.
4. Description of Services
MeritRanker provides the following AI-powered educational tools and services:
A. Core Features

B. Service Availability
- MeritRanker is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis.
- We do NOT guarantee 100% uptime or uninterrupted service. The platform may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance (typically with 24-hour notice)
- Unscheduled technical issues or server failures
- Third-party service interruptions (cloud providers, payment gateways, AI providers)
- Force majeure events
- We are not liable for any damages, data loss, or missed opportunities due to service interruptions.
C. Feature Limitations
- Features and functionality may vary based on your subscription plan.
- We reserve the right to modify, add, or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice.
- Beta or early-access features may be unstable and should not be relied upon for critical work.
5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
CRITICAL DISCLAIMER: MeritRanker uses artificial intelligence to generate educational content. You must understand and accept the following limitations:
A. Accuracy and Reliability
- AI Limitations: AI models can make mistakes, generate inaccurate or outdated information, or hallucinate.
- No Guarantee of Correctness: MeritRanker does NOT guarantee AI-generated content accuracy or suitability.

- We are not responsible for limitations of third-party AI models.
6. User Obligations and Prohibited Activities
You agree to use MeritRanker responsibly and lawfully. The following activities are strictly prohibited:
A. Illegal and Harmful Activities
- Using the platform for illegal purposes or to facilitate illegal activities
- Creating or distributing content that is obscene, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or violates rights
- Using the platform to commit fraud or other criminal activities
- Submitting content that encourages violence, self-harm, or harm to others
- Using the platform for sexual exploitation or content involving minors
B. Misuse and Abuse
- Distributing spam, phishing emails, malware, or malicious content
- Submitting misleading or intentionally harmful AI prompts
- Harassing, stalking, or threatening users or staff
- Creating multiple accounts to bypass restrictions
- Purchasing subscriptions or credits fraudulently
C. Technical Abuse
- Reverse-engineering or extracting source code
- Bypassing security or payment systems
- Using bots or scrapers without permission
- Performing denial-of-service attacks
- Circumventing geographic or contractual restrictions
D. Intellectual Property Violations
- Submitting copyrighted content without authorization
- Violating intellectual property rights
- Creating derivative works of platform features
E. Enforcement and Consequences
- We monitor violations and act at our discretion
- Violations may result in:
- Account suspension or termination
- Loss of paid credits or fees
- Legal action
- Reporting to authorities
- Notice may not be provided in emergencies
7. Payments, Subscriptions, and Refunds

8. Credits Usage Policy

10. User Content Ownership and License

B. AI-Generated Content
- AI-generated content is for personal educational use
- You own and are responsible for AI output

13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY INDIAN LAW, MeritRanker AND BYTECH MINDS PVT LTD ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES.

- Account or payment issues
We will notify you of such claims and cooperate in your defense.
